Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev held a working meeting with Governor of the Novgorod Region Andrey Nikitin, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture reports. The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to the prospects of the agro-industrial complex of the subject, the modernization of the reclamation complex and the development of rural areas.
Among the key tasks for the development of crop production in the region is work to increase productivity, including through the introduction of the required amount of mineral fertilizers. The development of the reclamation complex is also of great importance. Since January 2022, the implementation of the relevant state program has begun. Within its framework, the Novgorod region provides for about 95 million rubles for the involvement in the turnover of retired agricultural land. The Ministry of Agriculture expects the region to fully utilize these funds. In general, the department expects a good harvest in the Novgorod region in 2022.
Dmitry Patrushev and Andrey Nikitin also considered issues of state support for the region's agro-industrial complex and the integrated development of rural areas. Last year, more than 146 million rubles were allocated from the federal budget for measures to improve the quality of life in rural areas, and the development through the Ministry of Agriculture amounted to 100%. The Ministry expects full disbursement of funds this year as well.
