The issues of strengthening cooperation between Russia and Mongolia in the field of agro-industrial complex were discussed by the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev and the Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia Khayangaa Bolorchuluun, reports official website of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia. The working meeting was held at the Ministry of Agriculture on the eve of the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission of the two countries.
Dmitry Patrushev emphasized that Mongolia is a reliable strategic partner of Russia. At the end of 2021, the volume of trade in agricultural products and food between the countries increased by more than a quarter and reached $325 million. At the same time, according to the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, there is a serious potential for the development of cooperation.
Our country traditionally supplies Mongolia with grain products, confectionery, flour and bakery products, as well as meat. Russia is interested in increasing the export of these types of food, and is also ready to consider proposals to expand the range of supplies.
The parties substantively discussed issues of mutual access of agricultural products and food to the markets of the two countries, cooperation in the supply of Russian vaccines to Mongolia, as well as other areas of cooperation in the field of the agro-industrial complex.
