During his visit to Riyadh, the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev held talks with the Minister of Environment, Water Resources and Agriculture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Abdurahman Al-Fadli, reports official website of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia. The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to the increase in the volume of mutual trade in agricultural products.
As Dmitry Patrushev noted, trade and economic partnership is currently developing intensively between Russia and Saudi Arabia, one of the key areas of which is the agro-industrial complex. Thanks to joint work, bilateral cooperation has significantly strengthened over the past few years.
For 9 months of this year, the volume of trade in agricultural products and foodstuffs has increased by more than 50% and has already significantly exceeded the level of the previous year.
Following the talks, the head of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture expressed confidence that mutually beneficial relations in the field of agriculture would continue to develop intensively, which would help strengthen trade and economic ties, as well as enhance food security between Russia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
