The average cost of vegetables on the Russian market in January 2022 increased by 6,6%. This was reported in the press service of Rosstat.
It is noted that compared to January 2021, the growth was 16%, while the growth rate of vegetable prices was 4,8%.
The leader in price increase was white cabbage - the price increased by 15%. Cucumbers rose in price by 13,3%, tomatoes - by 12,7%, garlic - 11,6%, carrots - by 7,2%. Among fruits, prices increased the most for grapes - 12,4%, for pears and bananas - by 9,1% and 9%, respectively. At the same time, oranges and lemons became cheaper by 4,4% and 1,9%, respectively.
It is noted that in January food prices in general rose by 1,5%, compared with last year - by 12,3%.
Prices for white cabbage in 19 subjects of the Russian Federation increased by 2,0-10,0%, in 36 subjects - by 10,1-20,0%, in 30 subjects - by 20,1-40,4%.
Prices for cucumbers in 19 subjects of the Russian Federation increased by 1,3-10,0%, in 49 subjects - by 10,1-20,0%, in 16 subjects - by 20,1-45,7%. In the Republic of Kalmykia, cucumbers fell in price by 0,7%.
Prices for tomatoes in 19 subjects of the Russian Federation increased by 1,2-10,0%, in 42 subjects - by 10,1-20,0%, in 21 subjects - by 20,1-40,0%. In the Magadan region prices have not changed. In the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug and the Sakhalin Region, tomato prices fell by 0,2% and 8,3%, respectively.
