France is at risk of a shortage of potatoes, honey and milk due to drought. This forecast was given by the French newspaper Liberation, reports Lenta.ru.
Due to the prolonged heat wave, production in several agricultural sectors has been threatened. In this regard, French producers fear that they will not be able to meet demand.
The National Union of Potato Growers (UNPT) also noted that 2022 will be one of the worst in terms of yield in more than 20 years. In addition, bee farms already affected by summer rains and cold weather in 2021 may be at risk of economic collapse after summer droughts.
Experts also warn that the shortage of some products will lead to higher prices for them.
Former Development Manager of the French Association of Winemakers Vignerons Engagés Amélie Petit reportedthat there will be less wine in France this year amid drought and heat waves.
