Until 2030, a full-fledged cluster of environmentally friendly products will appear in the Kuban, reports AKKOR official website. Today, 11 companies of the region are included in the Unified Register of Organic Producers of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. The regional legislation on the development of organic agriculture has become a catalyst for the growth of an attractive progressive market.
In the summer of 2019, the Kuban deputies were the first in Russia to adopt a regional law on organic agriculture, they write Krasnodar news. Since January 2020, among the incentive measures for farmers who have decided to engage in organic agriculture, financial support has been allocated from the regional budget - subsidizing per hectare and risk insurance in the formation of cooperatives for the production of organic products. Priority is given to projects of the full cycle of production and marketing.
Alexander Shipulin, Chairman of the Council of the Kuban Association of Peasant Farming Enterprises (AKKOR), head of the Teply Stan peasant farm, is sure that the Kuban can become a pioneer of organic agriculture.
The development of organic agriculture is hampered by traditional problems: lack of information, lack of sales markets and, possibly, the high price of an entrance ticket to this segment. The volumes of production of organic products and their shelf life are much less.
The expert added that farmers, especially those with little land, need to “pack” information, talk about support measures, and provide assistance in preparing the necessary package of documents. This is a market that farmers can actively explore.
