The import of seed and planting material from the Netherlands is completely prohibited from November 23. The basis is the identification by the Rosselkhoznadzor service of bacterial spotting of pumpkin crops, which is a quarantine object for Russia and the EAEU countries.
This case of detection of quarantine objects in Dutch seed material is far from the first. Previously, the department stopped deliveries due to the same plant disease, as well as ragwort seeds.
Rosselkhoznadzor emphasized that the import of contaminated products continues against the backdrop of a 1,5-year absence of responses from the National Organization for Quarantine and Plant Protection of the Netherlands to the agency’s requests. In particular, foreign partners ignore the need to confirm the phytosanitary status of seed and planting material shipments sent to Russia.
