On June 29, 2021, in the city of Pozarevac, a meeting of Russian business representatives with the management of the Svetofor retail chain in Serbia was held. The negotiations took place within the framework of the business mission of the Russian companies-exporters of agricultural products with the Republic of Serbia.
On the Russian side, the meeting was attended by top managers of large Russian manufacturers and exporters of agricultural products, such as Sodruzhestvo, Miratorg, Cherkizovo, Agrocomplex named after N.I. Tkacheva, EkoNiva, Rusagro, Khlebprom, Chernogolovka, Kuban-Vino, Fanagoria, Abrau-Dyurso and others, the leadership of the Federal Center Agroexport, as well as heads of industry unions.
Andrey Panchenko, General Director of the Svetofor company in Serbia, presented the chain of stores, spoke about the most popular product categories and the specifics of the procurement procedure.
Svetofor is a Russian retail company that entered the Serbian market 1,5 years ago. The network numbers more than 2,2 thousand discounters in 6 countries of the world, in Serbia it is represented by 8 retail outlets located in different regions of the country. By the end of the year, it is planned to increase the number of stores to 70, including opening a discounter in Belgrade. The company also has a trade and logistics center in Serbia and its own vehicle fleet.
Today the assortment of the Serbian chain consists of 40% of Russian-made products and the demand for it is very high. Russian confectionery is the most popular, representatives of Svetofor emphasized. The company plans to increase the range of products from Russian manufacturers, especially due to increased purchases of vegetable oils, confectionery, snacks and nuts, as well as products that meet the growing trend for healthy eating.
