The Russian government will allocate 45 billion rubles for preferential lending to farmers from its reserve fund. The press service of the Cabinet of Ministers clarified that an increase in financing in 2023 was required due to an increase in the key rate of the Bank of Russia.
It is expected that additional funds will be used to subsidize loans provided to agricultural enterprises for the production and processing of agricultural products. It is planned that the amount allocated by the state will subsidize more than 40 thousand loans.
The preferential lending program for Russian farmers began operating in 2017. Within its framework, agricultural producers can use borrowed funds at a rate of up to 5%, including short-term and investment loans.
