An agreement has been concluded between the two countries to increase the volume of mutual transportation using electronic consignment notes and to develop digital interaction in the field of cargo transportation.
Such agreements were reached following a meeting of members of the boards of JSC National Company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and JSC Russian Railways.
The key topic of the conversation was the main directions for the development of transport corridors passing through the territory of partner states. As well as coordination of traffic volumes along the eastern route of the international transport corridor “North-South”.
Over the 11 months of 2023, the volume of cargo transported from Russia to Kazakhstan and back increased by 5,4% and amounted to more than 83,8 million tons.
