One of the largest Russian producers of pesticides - JSC Firm "August" - presented the students of the Stavropol State Agrarian University (SSAU) with a modern educational and scientific plant protection laboratory, - the press service of the company reports.
The laboratory is equipped with microscopes and other tools necessary for phytosanitary diagnostics and monitoring of agricultural crops to detect harmful organisms. For data visualization, multimedia equipment is provided, which can also be used for distance learning and videoconferencing.
The educational and scientific laboratory was created with the assistance of the company "August" as part of the development program of SSAU "Agroinnopolis-2030", implemented in accordance with the program of strategic academic leadership "Priority-2030", the goal of which is to form in Russia by 2030 more than 100 progressive modern universities – centers of scientific, technological and socio-economic development of the country.

The laboratory is equipped with microscopes for various functional purposes (including those with the ability to display images on the screen), tools necessary for performing a phytosanitary examination of crops to identify pests (entomological nets, frames), as well as for protective measures (anemometers, pH meters). , conductometers-salt meters, personal protective equipment when working with pesticides). In addition, methodological manuals are posted. A modern interactive panel allows you to use visualization tools for educational material and organize video conferences.
On the basis of the laboratory, practice-oriented classes are already being held with undergraduate and graduate students (direction "Agronomy") on the diagnosis of diseases and pests of crops, as well as on the study of the biological effectiveness of plant protection products.
