In 2021, the Taldomsky urban district won the Breakthrough of the Year award from the Governor of the Moscow Region in the Best in Agriculture nomination, the website of the Government of the Moscow Region reports. The municipality received the award for the active introduction of land into agricultural circulation - according to this indicator, it became the best among the municipalities of the Moscow region at the end of the year.
Last year was marked by the active introduction of land into agricultural circulation in the Taldomsky urban district: 4866 hectares of land began to be used in the municipality, which is 6,6 times more than in 2020. This made it possible to increase the sown area, the volume of which increased by 1370 hectares, or 18% of the 2020 level. The total sown area in the municipality in 2021 amounted to more than 9249 hectares.
The return of such a significant amount of land to agriculture gave impetus to the further development of agro-industrial enterprises and farms, in particular those involved in such an important area as the cultivation of seed potatoes.
State support in the form of subsidies helps in the development of the agro-industrial complex of the district. In 2021, the agricultural enterprises of Taldom received 28 million rubles. Most of the funds received - 19,8 million rubles - were used to carry out cultural and technical and agro-technological work on lands returned to agricultural use.
In 2021, the reclamation system was reconstructed on an area of more than 250 hectares. Thanks to a major investment project, these lands will also be used in 2022 - they plan to grow vegetables and potatoes on them.
Taldomsky district is the undisputed leader in the production of potato seeds in the Moscow region. By increasing the sown area in 2021, 22 thousand tons of products were produced here, which is 58% of the regional production volume or more than 14% of the all-Russian seed production in agricultural organizations and farms.
Elite potato seeds from Taldom are sold throughout Russia - from Tula to Primorsky Krai. To ensure high-tech storage conditions for seed material, in 2021, two potato storage facilities with a capacity of 13 tons (one of them after a global reconstruction), equipped with modern technological equipment, were put into operation in the district. Their capacity is 15% of the total volume of modern vegetable stores located in the Moscow region. The total investment in construction amounted to 313 million rubles.
