The cold summer 2017 hit the farmers of the Leningrad Region the hardest. The high technologies used in the modern agro-industrial complex are just an attempt to compensate for low temperatures and a bad climate.

150 hectares by the standards of the economy is only 1/14 of all food lands. You cannot inspect such areas except by bus. It is no coincidence that the sightseeing tour begins in the salon. Fortunately, this year, indeed, there is something to be proud of: these potato plantations provide a quarter of the total demand in the whole region.
First stop at 100 hectares of white cabbage. Compared to last season, when they lost almost half of the harvest of vegetables and grains, the situation is not so critical: they are only two weeks behind. Mainly, of course, due to the temperature regime and the lack of sunny days.

In such a situation, advanced technologies save: potatoes, for example, are stored already in a vacuum. Well, if there is a shortage in some direction, other industries also help. A separate reason for pride is the mushroom body.
Muhazhir Etuev, general director of a breeding plant: “Some industry does not always hold out. Last year we were pulled out by animal husbandry, so our company is much more stable on its feet. We feel much more comfortable than our colleagues. "
According to the director, the plant has already switched to a closed cycle and is almost independent of suppliers. In fact, they grow everything necessary to provide for the farm and set the table. Moreover, with a scientific approach.
Seed potatoes are cultivated on this farm, literally, at the cellular level. The entire technological chain - from a test tube to a bed - prototypes pass in a special laboratory.

They also have no doubt that the enterprise itself with billions of dollars in annual revenue will soon be able to reach new heights. Hope for a milk processing plant, which will be completed in December. And the first potato boxes will start filling next week.
