The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation expects this year the maximum potato harvest in the organized sector over the past 30 years. The volume of the new harvest is tentatively estimated at 8,4 million tons, which is 15% more than the 2022 level.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture Andrei Razin recalled the criteria for the successful operation of the agricultural sector laid down in the federal project for the development of potato and vegetable growing. The document, in particular, stipulates that the annual volume of potatoes grown in the country should consistently exceed 7,9 million tons.
