According to experts, the high yield is due to an increase in sown areas, good weather conditions. This year, the sown area was 18 150 ha, which is 14,7% more compared to last year.
According to Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT), the average annual wholesale price of 1 kg of potatoes in 2017 was 1920 won (~ $ 1,6), in 2018 - 2609 won (~ $ 2,2). However, this year (January to August) the cost of 1kg of potatoes has dropped to 1654 won (~ $ 1,4).
