The main results of the development of the crop industry in 2021 and strategic guidelines for 2022 were discussed at the All-Russian Agronomic and Agro-Engineering Meeting at the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia. The event, chaired by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Andrey Razin, was attended by representatives of federal and regional authorities, agricultural science and education, industry unions, as well as major agricultural producers, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture reports.
In Russia in 2021, a decent harvest of main crops was harvested, record levels were achieved in the production of oilseeds - 23,1 million tons, greenhouse vegetables - 1,4 million tons, fruits and berries - 3,9 million tons. This was facilitated by the high availability of material and technical resources to farmers, primarily fertilizers and machinery.
This year, among the key tasks is to increase the production of grain, sugar beets, oilseeds, potatoes and vegetables. The total sown area in the country is planned to be expanded by 0,9 million hectares to 81,3 million hectares. Including for grain and leguminous crops, according to the forecast, it will grow to 48 million hectares, forage crops - up to 13,9 million hectares, sugar beet - up to 1,07 million hectares. Sowing of vegetables and planting potatoes will also increase significantly.
Among the priority areas for the further development of the crop growing industry are the improvement of agricultural technologies, selection and seed production, the introduction of modern scientific achievements into production, the development of preferential leasing and lending mechanisms for agricultural producers.
Particular attention during the meeting was paid to the issues of bringing state support funds to farmers, staffing the industry, monitoring the state of winter crops and forming regional headquarters for the preparation and conduct of spring field work.
