The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia is starting to implement the federal project "Development of Vegetable and Potato Growing" to stimulate the production of potatoes and vegetables. This year, its funding will amount to 5 billion rubles, which is twice as much as was allocated for this area in 2022. Support will be provided to 76 regions.
In the Bryansk region, the amount of a subsidy in the total amount of 292 million rubles has been established to stimulate an increase in the production of potatoes and vegetables to agricultural producers (with the exception of citizens who maintain personal subsidiary plots and agricultural credit consumer cooperatives), citizens who maintain personal subsidiary plots and apply a special tax regime " Tax on professional income”, as well as to Russian organizations that create and (or) modernize storage facilities.
Subsidies per unit of output will be able to receive both large and small forms of management. At the same time, per hectare support for commodity production will also remain for farmers.
One of the important innovations will be support for private farms that apply a special tax regime when selling products.
From 2024, within the framework of the federal project, the reimbursement of direct costs incurred for the creation and modernization of vegetable and potato storage facilities will be increased. Compensation will increase from 20 to 25% of the project cost.
The Government of the Russian Federation has already approved the rules for granting subsidies. The Ministry of Agriculture expects that the implementation of the entire set of measures will make it possible by 2025 to increase the volume of potato production in the organized sector to 7,5 million tons, and open ground vegetables to 5,9 million tons.
