As of September 5, the region's farmers have already harvested 1163,3 tons of open field vegetable crops with a yield of 200,5 c/ha. 296 tons of carrots, 431 tons of beets, 435,3 tons of cabbage and more than one ton of other vegetable crops were harvested.
– Starting from 2021, farmers in the region will receive subsidies to support the production of potatoes and open field vegetables. In 2023, the total amount of payments amounted to 152,6 million rubles, including 33,1 million rubles were allocated to farmers as part of an incentive subsidy, 90,3 million rubles are subject to payment as part of a compensating subsidy, and to support elite seed production of potatoes and vegetables, including hybrids of vegetable crops, 29,2 million rubles are provided, - said the governor of the Irkutsk region Igor Kobzev.
According to the Minister of Agriculture of the region Ilya Sumarokov, in 2023 the total harvested area of open ground vegetables in the Irkutsk region is 891 hectares. The leader in terms of area was the Irkutsk region - 360 hectares.
– At present, open ground vegetables are being harvested in four districts of the region. Vegetable crops were harvested on an area of 58 hectares, which is 6,5% of the harvested area or 104% compared to last year. In 5, on the same date, 2022 hectares of vegetables were harvested,” Ilya Sumarokov emphasized.
The head of the regional Ministry of Agriculture also said that this year it is planned to collect 31,5 thousand tons of vegetables and 85,2 thousand tons of potatoes in the organized sector.
- The storage facilities where the entire harvested crop is imported are equipped with the necessary refrigeration units. In such storage facilities, vegetables and potatoes can be stored until the next spring,” said Ilya Sumarokov.
In total, 65 potato and vegetable storehouses function in the Angara region, with a capacity of 135 thousand tons of one-time storage. All of them are prepared for the acceptance of the harvest.
