In the Lagansky and Chernozemelsky regions of the republic, in order to combat desertification, it is planned to plant the leafless juzgun shrub. A budget of 137,5 million rubles is provided for the implementation of the event next year.
Work on planting a special sand-reinforcing crop will begin in February 2024. The native of the Kalmyk steppes is characterized by rapid growth and increased heat and drought resistance. Its developed root system, capable of penetrating to a depth of two meters, forms branches up to 25 meters long.
Subsidies to farmers who took part in this project will be issued after they submit reports and inspections by a special commission of the regional Ministry of Agriculture.
