As stated in the regional Ministry of Agriculture, crop yields remain at a decent level from year to year. Thanks to the work of Crimean farmers, more than half of the republic’s potato needs are met on their own.
Producers from Dzhankoysky, Krasnoperekopsky, Krasnogvardeysky and Kirovsky districts are successfully growing tubers. Products from the Bryansk, Tula and Nizhny Novgorod regions are also widely represented on the local market.
The crop in the region is cultivated mainly on private plots. The Crimean rose remains one of the most popular varieties among the population, which is chosen for its product and taste qualities.
Representatives of the organized sector, including farmers and agricultural enterprises, have in recent years preferred varieties such as Gala, Melodiya, Nevsky, Slavyanka.
