The innovative production, created on the basis of the Kuzbass SCARABEY plant, will make it possible to recycle 120 thousand tons of waste paper per year for recycling. This is a volume comparable to 1 million coniferous trees that will be saved from cutting down. From recycled materials, the plant will produce antibacterial paper (ABB), which has no analogues in Russia, for packaging food and agricultural products. ABB's high barrier properties make it possible to reduce the losses of manufacturers and retailers from product damage during storage and transportation by 10-15%.
“Today's event is the first in our long-term development program for the group of companies. Over the next 7 years, we intend to increase the capacity of Kuzbass SCARABEY to 300 thousand tons of waste paper per year, create a full-cycle production for the production of corrugated packaging, as well as several associated enterprises for the processing of plastic waste and the production of cellulose from industrial hemp waste. This is in line with the development strategy of Kuzbass until 2035, one of the tasks of which is the development of non-primary industries,” said Alexander Slyadnev, founder of Kuzbass SCARABEY LLC, sharing his plans for the future.
Paper of various thicknesses with antibacterial impregnation is an import-substituting product that manufacturers and retail chains have been waiting for. It is known that in the cost of products in stores, a significant share of the price is the price of packaging, and if it is imported, then the price of the final product in it is higher. The use of the Kemerovo ABB will make the products more accessible to consumers.
