The work of an educational and industrial agrarian cluster has started in the Moscow region. It began to train students according to educational programs developed by the Kolomensky Agrarian College. N.T. Kozlov" together with large agricultural producers.
“On the basis of the Agricultural College in Kolomna, we are creating a center for training personnel and introducing new technologies in agriculture. So, students will practice on the basis of their own training and production facilities, getting their first work experience in real production already in college. All of them will participate in the harvesting campaign, the whole year the students will be involved in the production chains of agriculture. Including fulfilling orders from manufacturing companies for the supply of seed potatoes and plant seedlings, which were produced in educational laboratories. The training and production center should produce a competitive product that is in demand on the market,” said Georgy Filimonov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Moscow Region, who is in charge of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
The flagship enterprise in the educational and production agro-cluster was the enterprise JSC "Ozery" (part of the Malino Group of Companies). Students test potatoes of the Russian selection of the Evpatiy variety, from which chips are produced near Moscow at the enterprise. So, students see potential employers and gain knowledge that is not in textbooks. Thus, at the end of the educational institution, students become practicing professionals.
“Half a hectare of potatoes, which have already been grown this year in the college's educational farm, will yield about 8-10 tons of seed potatoes, which will be planted next year on an area of 3-4 hectares. It is planned that the second harvest will be about 100 tons of seed potatoes, which will be delivered to local enterprises for processing. And this is just the first step. We are interested in attracting new enterprises to the agricultural cluster,” added the Deputy Chairman.
For the first year of the Kolomna Agrarian College. N.T. Kozlov this year received more than 300 people. More than half of them will be trained within the framework of the "Professionality" project.
Also, Agrocluster opened workshops in the areas of Agronomy, Digital Farming, Operation and Repair of Electrical Equipment and Automation, Locksmith, Technologies for Storage and Processing of Crop Products, Greenhouse and others. Students will work out in the workshops the techniques and skills of operating unmanned aerial vehicles, analyzing and processing data, confident driving and careful operation of agricultural machines and mechanisms, and many others.
