Almost all European countries are experiencing an increase in onion prices, and at the moment the highest prices for these products are observed in Poland and the Netherlands. This is reported by EastFruit analysts citing data from the German agency AMI.
In particular, according to market players, to date, onion sellers in the Netherlands are already declaring onion prices at 0,65-0,67 euros / kg. At the same time, they declare a lack of supply of locally produced products and are actively looking for an alternative in other European countries.
At the same time, on the Polish market prices for onions vary between 0,58-0,66 euros / kg, and this country is also already forced to import these products.
In Austria, onion prices are slightly lower and do not exceed 0,62 euro / kg. However, analysts of the Ukrainian Fruit and Vegetable Association (UPOA) reported earlier that onions in the indicated market continue to rise in price under the influence of increased export demand.
At the same time, in Ukraine today, onions go on sale in large bulk at 0,52-0,59 euros / kg, and a considerable share of the offer is still made up of imported products from Asian countries.
