In the region, the plan for sowing spring crops has been fulfilled by almost 80%. According to operational data as of May 16, 2019, spring crops were sown on an area of 476,8 thousand hectares.
Currently, farmers sow grain (90,3%), sugar beets (98,3%), rapeseed (88,9%), soybeans (80,5%), corn for grain (64,6%), and flax (51,1%), annual herbs (58,7%), vegetables (35,9%), sunflower for grain (29,7%), and planting potatoes (64,9%). In addition, agricultural organizations in the region have begun feeding spring crops, chemical weeding, and processing crops from pests and diseases.
Recall that in accordance with the state program “Development of the agro-industrial complex of the Nizhny Novgorod Region”, in 2019 production volumes were established, including 1 thousand tons of grain; 114 thousand tons of potatoes; 352 thousand tons of vegetables; 48,9 thousand tons of sugar beets; 218,5 thousand tons of flax and hemp fiber.
