More than 581 million rubles will be allocated in the Nizhny Novgorod Region for the development and improvement of crop production. The money will be spent on promoting all the main areas of this economy, Governor Gleb Nikitin specified.
He said that the allocated funds will go to subsidies for the provision of unrelated support, the purchase of specialized equipment, the development of land reclamation, the laying of orchards and much more. Starting this year, a new mechanism to stimulate insurance in agriculture through unrelated support will become operational. Material resources will be provided to farmers who have insured at least 30% of their own crops.
Last year, the volume of agricultural production in the Nizhny Novgorod region decreased. Grain was produced 1 million 151,3 thousand tons, which is 13,1% less than in 2017. Sugar beets dug up 300,6 thousand tons (-2,4%). A negative trend was also observed in vegetables: 185,8 thousand tons (-6,6%). Potatoes “pleased” more: 757,6 thousand tons of harvested (+ 2,4%).
