In the Shimsky district, on the territory of the Oratay agricultural cooperative, successful test flights of a drone took place. It was used to desiccate potato tops.
The flights were carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Novgorod Region with the support of the St. Petersburg Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SPB FRC RAS).
As Sergei Morozov, a representative of the Oratai agricultural cooperative, noted, based on the results of the treatment, the pesticide lay well on the leaf plate, reaching the lower tier due to the turbulence of the air flows. The result was recorded already on the third day after the experiment. At the same time, high efficiency was observed compared to ground spraying. When spraying using the traditional method, double treatment is often necessary, since such spraying does not reach the lower tier of the tops. In the case of spraying from a drone, one treatment is sufficient. Due to this, the consumption of the active substance is reduced.
