According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Trade, Food and Processing Industry of the Orenburg Region, as of May 31, 2023, 1681,9 hectares of open-ground vegetables were sown by agricultural enterprises and peasant farms in the region (54% of the plan), including: cabbage - 204,4, 397,7 ha, turnips - 60,4 ha, carrots - 15,6 ha, beets - 1003,8 ha, other vegetables - XNUMX ha.
For comparison, in 2022, 1191,4 hectares of open field vegetables were sown on this date.
Annually, the largest sown areas of vegetables of the “borscht set” in the region are owned by the SSSPC “Soyuz” - by the beginning of June, 120 hectares were planted; IP Sukov Pavel Nikolaevich - 95 hectares.
The main areas growing potatoes: Orsk city - 282 ha; Sol-Iletsk urban district - 230 hectares; Aleksandrovsky district - 209 hectares; Ilek district - 122 hectares.
