Five new storage facilities are in a high degree of completion, and four more are under construction.
“Every year we are increasing the production of vegetables and potatoes; a number of large projects are being implemented in the region to modernize and build storage facilities to store the crop. So, in 2023, it is planned to commission 9 facilities with a total storage capacity of 79,4 thousand tons, ”said Georgy Filimonov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Moscow Region, who is in charge of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
Storage facilities for vegetables and potatoes will be located in the urban districts of Taldom, Kolomna, Lukhovitsy, Yegorievsk, Shatura, Dmitrovsky, Sergiev Posadsky. Their commissioning will allow organizing about 200 new jobs in the region.
In particular, the Taldom urban district occupies a leading position in the production of potatoes. JSC Agrofirma Bunyatino (part of the Dmitrovskie Vegetables Group of Companies) is building a potato storage facility with a storage capacity of 10 tons. It will be a modern facility with both container and floor storage. Half a billion investments have been attracted to implement the project.
In 2022, four storage facilities with a total storage capacity of 23 thousand tons were built and reconstructed in the Moscow region.
