In 2022, Moscow region farmers plan to grow about 86 thousand tons of cabbage. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the region.
Agricultural producers of the region are actively preparing for spring field work. Their beginning is predicted for the third decade of April.
It is planned that the area for growing vegetables in open ground will increase to 8,4 thousand hectares. Including cabbage, more than 1,7 thousand hectares will be allotted, which will make it possible to harvest a good harvest of this crop.
“This year, thanks to federal and regional state support for farmers, the gross harvest of vegetables in the Moscow region is expected to increase by 10%. We plan to harvest about 86 tons of cabbage alone, which now worries our residents so much,” said Minister of Agriculture and Food of the region Vladislav Murashov.
In early May, cabbage seedlings from greenhouses will go to open ground. At the same time, the first harvest of early varieties can be harvested already in the first decade of July.
