In the city of Innopolis, Verkhneuslonsky district of Tatarstan, the construction of a plant for the production of agricultural aircraft of the MB-500 brand and a specialized airfield for test flights has begun. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the head of the Rostec corporation (project executor) Sergey Chemezov.
The project is carried out as part of an agreement signed at the MAKS exhibition in 2017 to create a system for aviation chemical work in the region. Investments in it will amount to 2,5 billion rubles of private funds. At the first stage, it is planned to produce from 60 to 100 aircraft per year, in the future this figure may be increased depending on demand.
The facility is scheduled to open in 2022. The technical issues of the project will be resolved before the end of the year, negotiations with investors are ongoing. According to Chemezov, there are no analogues to such lethal means in Russia yet. In the future, they will be used not only for agricultural work, but also for environmental monitoring, forest treatment, oil spill response, etc.

MV-500 is a modern aircraft for performing aerochemical work produced by the Kazan company MVEN. The model received a certificate in September last year, becoming the country's first certified aircraft for the agricultural sector. This aircraft has a composite glider and can be operated in any climatic conditions, and is also equipped with a parachute rescue system along with the crew. The carrying capacity of this model is about 560 kilograms.
