In 2021, over 30 new land reclamation facilities were put into operation as part of the federal targeted investment program. Construction work has been completed for another 20, permits are currently being prepared. These figures are almost twice as high as in 2020, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture reports.
7,3 billion rubles were allocated from the federal budget to carry out the relevant work, the level of actual disbursement of funds amounted to 97,5%. The commissioning of new land reclamation facilities will prevent about 261 thousand hectares of arable land from being withdrawn from agricultural use and provide protection from water erosion, flooding and flooding of more than 26 thousand hectares.
Currently, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia is in charge of over 38,5 thousand reclamation facilities, including about 31 thousand hydrotechnical facilities.
