In the Yaroslavl region for 10 months of 2018, the collection of vegetables decreased by 38,6%, potatoes - by 10,1% compared to the same period last year. It is reported by Yaroslavlstat.
Grains are threshed 0,8% more. At the same time, agricultural production as a whole grew by 8,7%. Growth was provided by livestock and poultry. So, livestock and poultry for slaughter were produced by 4,5% more, milk - by 3%, and eggs - by 9,9% compared to 2017.
Pig farming has practically ceased to exist in the region. The number of pigs decreased by 2,8 times: from one and a half thousand heads to 572. But the number of poultry increased by 13,8%, amounting to 13,6 million individuals.
The forest industry is also growing, the data of which are also taken into account in agricultural statistics. Timber production increased by 8,2%, amounting to 26,9 thousand cubic meters in 10 months of 2018.
Interestingly, the official statistics of Yaroslavlstat diverge from official statements by regional authorities. So, leaders of different levels have repeatedly stated about the “potato cluster”, “cheese cluster”, “rabbit-breeding cluster” and the development of “aquaculture”. Meanwhile, statistics do not see industrial production of either rabbits or fish, and the potato crop is falling. Rather, we can talk about the poultry cluster, which is successfully developing without high-profile statements.
