In the Yaroslavl region, the harvesting campaign is coming to an end.
Now the prices for vegetables in the Yaroslavl region, including the "borscht set", are lower than the average for the Central Federal District. So, according to Rosstat, by mid-October in the region the average retail price for potatoes was 36 rubles per kilogram, which is 7,5% lower than the average price among the regions included in the Central Federal District.
On average, carrots in the region cost 45,84 rubles per kilogram (5,3% lower than the average for the Central Federal District), cabbage - 36,47 rubles per kilogram (10,6% lower than the average for the Central Federal District).
However, at many fairs and markets in the region and in chain stores, these products can be purchased at a lower price.
In order to ensure the availability of vegetables, primarily the "borsch" set, as well as stabilize prices for vegetables, work has been organized with local authorities to increase the number of fairs for the sale of vegetable products and potatoes. Farmers, gardeners are provided with preferential, and at municipal markets and fairs - free places for trade.
Today in the region there are 96 permanent, as well as 200 additionally open seasonal fairs, 7 retail markets for the sale of agricultural products.
There are also 2 distribution centers in Yaroslavl, where the vegetable group is supplied by the leading regional agricultural producers, after which it is supplied to the regional chain stores.
Also in the region there are 5 procurement points of the Consumer Cooperatives, where surplus crops are taken from gardeners. The opening of three more points will take place before the end of this year.
In retail chains, distribution centers, the necessary stocks of food have been formed, purchasing sessions are also held in the region with large federal retail chains and local agricultural producers, the purpose of which is to increase the share of local producers on the shelves of the retail chain.
