Most of the food in the diet of the capital's residents comes from domestic products. According to Deputy Mayor Natalya Sergunina, over 10 years the share of Russian agricultural products in the city’s total consumption has increased from 69 to 84%.
Today more than 80 regions of Russia supply food to Moscow. The capital purchases vegetables, fruits and berries mainly from the Krasnodar and Stavropol territories, Volgograd, Astrakhan and Rostov regions, the republics of Dagestan, Kabardino-Balkaria and Crimea.
