From November 6 to November 11, 2023, a delegation of Russian companies in the grain deep processing market visited the People's Republic of China. The business mission was organized by the Russian Association of Advanced Grain Processing Enterprises (Soyuzstarch) and the Chinese Starch Industrial Association (CSIA). As part of the mission, a Chinese-Russian conference and a visit to the largest enterprises in the advanced grain processing industry in China were held.
The Soyuzstarch Association organized a business mission to China for existing companies in the industry and potential investors. The event was supported by the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, the attaché for the Russian agro-industrial complex in China, and the China Starch Industry Association. The Russian delegation was represented by the companies AMILCO LLC, Rustark LLC and Simbio LLC.
The business mission began with a conference in the capital of China, Beijing. The Chinese side was represented by 17 companies - the largest holdings and enterprises in the Chinese deep grain processing industry - manufacturers of starch and its derivatives, amino acids, vitamins, manufacturers of equipment, enzymes and other enterprises.
Wei Xu-Ming, Secretary General of the China Starch Industrial Association, spoke about Russian-Chinese trade in a presentation: “In 2022, 42 tons of wheat starch, potato starch, corn starch, cassava starch, dextrin and other modified starches worth US$000 were exported from China to Russia. From January to September 85,000, trade between China and Russia amounted to US$2023 billion, an increase of 176,416% year-on-year. Including exports from China to Russia amounted to 29,5 billion US dollars, an increase of 81,428%. China's imports from Russia amounted to US$56,9 billion, an increase of 94,988%. From October 12,7 to 17 this year, China and Russia signed the largest contract in the history of the two countries for the supply of grain with a total value of almost 18 trillion rubles.”
“The Rustark company has been cooperating with China for a long time, and plans to cooperate further. During the trip, we renewed relations with companies we knew and found new partners. The conference, organized as part of a business mission, allowed us to get acquainted with the leadership of the Chinese Association and with companies new to us. The scale and level of development of some Chinese corporations that are included in the Fortune 500 are impressive. I believe that Russian and Chinese colleagues need to more often exchange experiences, visit factories and events, both in Russia and China. I propose to meet regularly within the framework of international conferences organized by associations. We have a very positive assessment of the event.", said General Director of Rustark LLC, Chairman of the Board of the Soyuzstarch Association Roman Kozyrev.
During the business mission, representatives of AMILCO LLC held individual meetings with the companies Shandong Qufeng Food TecECHCO and COFCO; during the negotiations, the prospects for the development of the industry and the exchange of experience took place, the terms of cooperation were discussed, and preliminary agreements were reached for the supply of equipment. "For the Russian Association of Advanced Grain Processing Enterprises and for the entire industry as a whole, a business mission to China is an important step forward in building relationships with Chinese companies. “AMILCO” already uses equipment from Chinese manufacturers at the plant and plans to continue cooperation. The business mission to China introduced us to new companies and helped us renew cooperation with those we already knew. The trip turned out to be extremely useful; the Chinese side showed us the best enterprises and experience of the Chinese deep grain processing industry. We are pleased to invite the Chinese delegation to visit the AMLCO plant.", - commented representatives of the delegation of AMILCO LLC.
“The Symbio company took part in a business mission organized by the Soyuzstarch Association. The purpose of our visit was to familiarize ourselves with the market of Chinese manufacturers, as well as to search for new partnerships. During a business mission to China, we visited a number of the largest enterprises for advanced grain processing, as well as engineering companies and companies producing equipment for our industry. We were able to verify that our Chinese colleagues have fundamental knowledge in this area, which is used in advanced biotechnologies for grain processing. A wide range of products manufactured by Chinese enterprises finds its consumers all over the world, including in global markets. We are confident that the experience of China will help domestic enterprises in finding new solutions, because the world of biotechnology is in a stage of progressive growth. On this trip, “Simbio” found new like-minded people, friends, and we hope, future partners!“,” commented Pavel Galimkhanov, director of the Enzyme Technologies group of Simbio LLC.
