In particular, 120 million rubles will be allocated from the federal budget and about 117 million rubles from the regional budget. The funds will be directed to agricultural producers to reimburse part of the cost of purchasing elite seeds.
“We direct the farmers to carefully analyze the varietal composition of the seeds that they plan to use for future sowing. The quality of the seed material is important here, as this is one of the key factors for good productivity, ”said Nikolai Denisov, Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
The head of the agrarian department recalled that there are 34 elite seed farms in the region that sell elite seeds of grain and leguminous crops, potatoes, perennial grasses, which allows agricultural producers to carry out variety-cutting and varietal renewal.
At present, Nizhny Novgorod farmers have stocked 2020 thousand tons of grain seeds, 82,2 thousand tons of potatoes, 37,5 tons of flax, 280 tons of perennial grasses for the 200 harvest. Harvesting of seeds continues.
