In the Moscow region, heads of large agricultural enterprises propose to attract those convicted to forced labor to vacancies in the industry. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of Regional Security Moscow Region.
“As representatives of regional agricultural enterprises note, there is an acute shortage of employees due to the increase in production and sales of products. The opening of subdivisions on the basis of several enterprises of the Moscow region, where those sentenced to forced labor could live and work, will become a positive experience of joint cooperation, ”the statement says.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Moscow Region - Head of the Main Directorate of Regional Security Roman Karatayev, quoted by the press service, noted that the development of this type of punishment will reduce the level of recidivism in the region "by means of convicted persons obtaining a livelihood and the possibility of maintaining social ties.
According to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, forced labor is one of the types of criminal punishment, when the convict is elected oblige to work at the place of work, determined by employees of the bodies of the penal system. Forced labor is assigned for a period of two months to five years. A person sentenced to forced labor has the right to receive wages, from which 5-20% of the total amount is withheld in favor of the state.
