Governor Veniamin Kondratiev told reporters about this, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture reports.
“I am grateful to the Government of Russia for this timely measure. The Krasnodar Territory is one of the main agricultural regions of Russia. We produce about half of the fruits and berries in the country, more than 70% of rice. About a third of all vineyard areas are located in the Kuban. The ban on the export of ammonium nitrate will prevent an increase in prices for mineral fertilizers, allow farmers to carry out a sowing campaign, which means getting high yields in 2022,” Veniamin Kondratyev said.
A ban on the export of ammonium nitrate was introduced in Russia from February 2 for two months. At present, farmers are preparing for the sowing campaign, so there is an additional need for mineral fertilizers in the domestic market.
Earlier, Veniamin Kondratiev noted that the rise in the price of ammonium nitrate jeopardizes the 2022 harvest, which will lead to an increase in prices for agricultural products.
