Kurgan farmers are ready to supply seeds not only to their region, but also to neighboring regions in order to help them in import substitution of planting material, TASS reports with reference to Telegram channel the government of the region, who refers to the general director of one of the largest Kurgan vegetable producers ZAO Potato, Alexander Nemirov.
“There are enough seeds in the Kurgan region to occupy the fields not only of ours, but also of neighboring regions, which will ensure the import substitution of planting material. Warehouses still store potatoes and beets, which will satisfy the demand of the population for vegetables in the future,” the report says.
This year, the company plans to plant potatoes on an area of 1 hectares, another 200 hectares are allocated for the cultivation of carrots and beets. Also at the end of March, cabbage seedlings will be planted in greenhouses.
According to the Department of Agro-Industrial Complex of the Kurgan Region, CJSC Kartofel daily issues several tens of tons of vegetables to the trading network, supplying them not only to the region, but also to the Urals Federal District.
The Kurgan region is an industrial and agricultural region, about 40% of the population lives in the countryside. The region specializes in the production of grain crops, vegetables, potatoes and is one of the most important agricultural regions of the Urals.
