The company plans to grow 300 thousand tons of potatoes, cabbage, beets and carrots. For these purposes, the holding needs 20 thousand hectares of land, which, most likely, the government of the Leningrad region will allocate in the Tosno and Gatchina districts of the region.
Investments in the project will amount to about 5 billion rubles. In the case of root vegetable production, it is considered a less capital intensive business than greenhouse vegetable production.
Agroholding "Vyborzhets" is the largest producer of vegetables and herbs in the North-West region. The holding occupies an area of more than 100 hectares, a quarter of which are greenhouses. The company grows over 60% of the total volume of greenhouse vegetables in the Leningrad Region. The holding also plans to grow champignons. The construction of a mushroom growing complex with a capacity of 47 thousand tons of mushrooms per year has already begun in 10 regions.
