The company plans to grow 300 thousand tons of potatoes, cabbage, beets and carrots. For these purposes, the holding needs 20 thousand hectares of land, which, most likely, the government of the Leningrad Region will allocate in the Tosnensky and Gatchinsky districts of the region.
Investments in the project will amount to about 5 billion rubles. In the production of root crops, it is considered a less capital-intensive business than greenhouse vegetable growing.
Agroholding "Vyborzhets" is the largest producer of vegetables and herbs in the North-West region. The holding covers an area of more than 100 hectares, a quarter of them are greenhouses. The company grows more than 60% of the total volume of greenhouse vegetables in the Leningrad Region. The holding also plans to grow champignons. In 47 regions, the construction of a mushroom cultivation complex with a capacity of 10 thousand tons of mushrooms per year has already begun.
