According to the results of 2017, Russian food exports can reach $ 20 billion. This statement was made by Russian Minister of Agriculture Alexander Tkachev, speaking at a meeting of the Russian business mission in the Kingdom of Morocco.
The event, held under the motto "Russia - Morocco: Opening New Opportunities", was organized as part of the official visit to this North African country of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.
“In recent years, Russian food export has been actively developing. Over the past 10 years, it has grown 3,5 times - from $ 5 billion to $ 17 billion at the end of 2016, - Tkachev told the forum delegates. “We hope that by the end of 2017, exports will be about $ 20 billion.”
“I would like to note that not only the growth of volumes is important, but also the diversification of exports both in terms of geography and in terms of commodity structure,” the minister stressed. The business forum is attended by representatives of about 20 Russian companies operating in the field of energy, transport, agriculture, car building, pharmaceuticals and a number of others.
