Fruit Logistica 7, the international exhibition of processing, storage and transportation technologies for vegetables and fruits, ends in Berlin on February 2020.
This year, 3300 exhibitors from 93 countries took part in the exhibition - more than ever before.
It was impossible to get past the sector in which fruit and vegetable producers were located. Including the only representative of Russia - the ROST Group of Companies - one of the leaders in the greenhouse vegetables market. A huge assortment of fruits and salads, ready-made meals and concentrates was presented at the stands.
But we were primarily interested in manufacturers of equipment and packaging for vegetables.
Note that absolutely all manufacturers of packaging equipment presented their vision of packaging from decaying materials or materials suitable for processing. Experts have not yet given a clear answer about the direction in which the development of the packaging industry will go. But everyone agrees that the use of 100% plastic is a thing of the past. Today everyone is talking about caring for the environment, and this is a key point on which developers and manufacturers of packaging equipment rely.

Another of our observations: equipment manufacturers are cooperating to offer the buyer everything they need in the complex: a whole set of equipment for preparing the fields, planting crops, care, harvesting, storage and pre-sale preparation. In cooperation, perhaps more promising prospects are opening up for participants in the European market; we will see how this idea takes root in Russia.
Manufacturers of products of deep processing of plant materials (not only cereals and oilseeds, but also fruits and vegetables) pay great attention to the Russian raw materials market and the market for the sale of finished products. This is due to a number of restrictions on the import of vegetables and fruits to Russia from the EU countries, and to an increase in the consumption of processed products in Russia, and to the interest in exports within the EAEU countries. In general, this exhibition could serve as an interesting platform for Russian manufacturers to enter foreign markets.
