Agricultural machinery manufacturer GRIMME has expanded its product line with the launch of the new WV series vegetable digger.
Diggers are used mainly in the two-phase method for harvesting onions suitable for storage. A vegetable digger (with a working width of 1,40 m, 1,65 m, and also 1,80 m) can be purchased for the next harvest season.
Quality begins with the harvest. The new WV series vegetable digger is equipped with product-friendly receiving blades, which can be ordered in rubber or brush versions (optional). Both options are distinguished by their special flexibility and can deviate upward with an increased flow of the product to reduce the pressure exerted on the product. Due to the offset location of the receiving blades, the crop is carefully transferred to the first screening conveyor. Another positive aspect is that when lifting the machine, the receiving blades prevent the product from rolling back. This ensures that the maximum quantity of high-quality goods is laid in the roll.
To achieve sufficient and at the same time careful screening in difficult harvesting conditions, the first and second screening conveyors can be equipped with a knocker (optional: with mechanical or hydraulic drives).
The unique Boogie system is used for leveling and compaction of the soil and prevents deep immersion of the harvested crop in the soil. This contributes to better drying of the product and increases its stability and suitability for storage. In addition, this reduces land grab during subsequent roll picking.
The Boogie spring-loaded system consists of two support wheels and a continuous roller compactor. Springing provides constant pressure on the compactor roller, which eliminates the accumulation of sifted earth in front of the compactor roller.
