The work of everyone who, with their daily painstaking work, grows all kinds of agricultural products for us, should be appreciated. In the heat, in the rain, in the frost, the agricultural laborers keep their noble watch so that tomorrow we have something to put on the table. Today, harvesting work continues in the fields and gardens of Dagestan, tens of thousands of tons of crops have already been received in the bins.
Grain
A systematic policy aimed at expanding arable land and increasing grain production continues in the republic - 2019 thousand tons were harvested in 385. Harvesting of winter grain crops this year has already come to the finish line.
According to the operational data of the RD Ministry of Agriculture, as of July 30, 91,4 thousand tons of grain were threshed from an area of 97,6 thousand hectares (201,4% of crops). From the remaining sown areas, if we take into account the average yield of 22 c / ha, about 4,8 thousand tons of grain will be harvested. It should be noted that the main producers of winter grain in the republic are the Khasavyurt, Karabudakhkentsky, Nogaysky, Kizlyarsky, Sergokalinsky, Novolaksky, Kayakentsky and Buinaksky regions, which account for about 64 percent of the winter wedge of Dagestan.
Recall that the harvest of spring crops will also make a significant contribution to the 2020 Dagestan fruitful loaf. Taking into account the crops of corn, rice and spring crops, the total area of cereals awaiting harvest is 156,5 thousand hectares.
Potato
History testifies that the widespread cultivation of potatoes has more than once helped many countries of the world to overcome the consequences of the famine years, therefore this culture is respectfully called "the second bread". Dagestan also has its own achievements in the cultivation of tubers, in particular, in the past 2019 more than 353 thousand tons of tubers were harvested in the fields of the republic.
As of the reporting date, in Dagestan, harvesting operations began in 20 districts. The harvest was collected from 27,6% of the 18,8 thousand hectares of potato fields to be harvested. So far, about 94 thousand tons of tubers have been obtained with an average yield of 179,9 c / ha. Traditionally, tubers are cultivated on a large scale in Levashinsky, Akushinsky, Khasavyurt, Buinaksky and Tabasaran districts.
Vegetables
This year, vegetables are cultivated on an area of 41,5 thousand hectares. At the end of July, the crop was harvested from 30 percent of the plantations. So far, about 24 thousand tons of vegetables have been obtained in 367 regions of the republic with an average yield of 287,2 c / ha. Most large-scale vegetable growing is carried out in Levashinsky, Derbent and Khasavyurt districts. Significant areas for the cultivation of vegetable crops are also allotted in the Kizlyar, Magaramkent, Kizilyurt, Akushinsky, Buinaksky, Babayurtovsky, Suleiman-Stalsky and Tabasaran districts.
Fruits and grapes
State attention, directed to the development of viticulture and horticulture in the republic, gives the expected results. Over 193 thousand tons of grapes and more than 173 thousand tons of fruits and berries were harvested in Dagestan last year. For these positions in the context of the country's constituent entities, the republic also occupies a leading position.
Mass harvesting of grapes has not yet begun, but the first centners of early varieties of sunny berries are already entering the markets. Traditionally, most of the Dagestan grapes are harvested on the plantations of the Derbent, Kayakent, Tabasaran and Karabudakhkent regions.
At one time, large areas of garden plantings were located mainly in mountainous and foothill regions of the republic. The intensification of gardening, encouraged by the state in recent years, has made adjustments, now many lowland regions of Dagestan have significant gardens. So far, the harvesting of fruits has begun in 23 districts, 5,5 thousand tons of apples, pears, apricots, peaches, cherries, cherries and plums have been harvested from 26,4 thousand hectares of orchards (or 38,7% of fruiting plantations).
Livestock feed
Livestock breeding in Dagestan is one of the main branches of the agro-industrial complex; business executives pay due attention to the procurement of feed for livestock. More than 1,5 million tons of feed is harvested annually. For this, perennial and annual forage grasses are cultivated, as well as the reserves of natural hayfields are used.
