GALA!
At the beginning of its journey, the variety caused some bewilderment not only among agricultural producers, but also among consumers. In 2008, when GALA appeared on store shelves and markets, Russians preferred large potatoes. GALA, on the other hand, produced many straightened medium-sized tubers, and if during the season the potatoes lacked nutrition and moisture, then 2040 “chicken eggs” from one bush. Interestingly, this variety was created by German breeders just taking into account the changing rhythm of life and new consumer demands. Over time, the advantages of the GALA variety were also appreciated in Russia, although recognition came only in 2013. Now GALA is the leader in terms of cultivation area in our country (it occupies a third of all potatoes planted), one of the most successful varieties for washing and small packaging.

- Fresh realization - suitable for washing, looks beautiful in packaging, good keeping quality (including on store shelves);
- Production of fresh peeled potatoes - the pulp does not darken after peeling;

- Production of dry products (flakes) - the starch content in tubers can reach 22%, while the breeders declared 13%;
- Cooking (suitable for boiling, frying and baking), type B (medium boiling), appetizing, appetizing yellow pulp in various cooking products. The small tuber fits well in the hand, when cleaning a minimum amount of waste is obtained.

The variety appeared in the Russian Federation in 2014 and firmly occupied its niche in the catering system. It belongs to the type of cooking A-B (non-boiled - slightly boiled) and impeccably retains taste, texture and shape even after prolonged cooking. Diced or grated, it does not break up in various dishes and dressings, including mayonnaise. The tubers have an elongated shape, which is convenient for various types of cutting. For many Russians, this type of potato has a “taste of childhood”. It has been known in our country since 1980, but now it is in demand among consumers both in Russia and in Germany. Cooking type C - boils well, the pulp is tender.
