The farmers of the Tyumen region have something to be proud of in 2022. The complex of efforts that the specialists invested in equipment, seeds, fertilizers, together with favorable weather conditions, made it possible to obtain a worthy result. About 1,9 million tons of grain and leguminous crops were harvested in the region. This was stated by Deputy Governor, Director of the Department of Agroindustrial Complex of the Tyumen Region Vladimir Cheimetov, summing up the development of the agro-industrial complex at a press conference in the joint press center of the Interfax and Tyumen Line news agencies.
“We are a little short of the record of the Tyumen region in 2011. Despite the fact that the initial gross harvest amounted to more than two million tons, after processing and drying the grain, the final data turned out to be just under 1 million tons. In general, the Tyumen agrarians coped with the tasks set with honor. We harvested a harvest close to a record, ”he explained.
Tyumen vegetable growers have set an absolute yield record. 522 centners per hectare were harvested from open ground vegetables. The gross harvest amounted to more than 55 thousand tons. For the second year, the potato industry also shows effective work. Gross production amounted to more than 230 thousand tons of "second bread". According to the director of the agro-industrial complex department, the harvest fully covers the needs of the region, the Tyumen region is ready to offer more than 10 thousand tons of potato seeds to other regions.
“A number of municipal districts and agricultural enterprises have set their own internal records. In particular, Agrofirm KriMM had a record of 106 thousand tons of potatoes, this year - 125 thousand tons. This is a serious production, which, coupled with processing, allows us to maintain the status of a leader in the Russian production of Elite class potato seeds,” said Vladimir Cheimetov.
In 2023, the region plans to increase the area under crops by almost 6 hectares.
The Deputy Governor noted that Russian machine builders were actively involved in the process of import substitution and this year, despite the difficulties with the supply of components, they satisfied all the requests of agricultural producers.
“Very often asked the question, are there any failures in the supply? No, all scheduled repairs of agricultural machinery took place on time. Well-coordinated work allowed us to complete everything in accordance with the schedules and get a decent harvest. Now we are focusing the attention of farmers on preparations for spring field work, so that they order all spare parts for agricultural machinery in the winter, so that everything arrives on time,” concluded Vladimir Cheimetov.
