According to EastFruit, Russia has already delivered two consignments of marketable potatoes to Polish consumers in the 2019/20 season. In addition, in 2019, Russia exported to Poland more than 3,8 thousand tons of onions.
To date, the supply of potatoes to Poland from Russia is still quite feasible, since the average wholesale prices for potatoes in Russia are now almost two times lower than in Poland. True, the sharp decline in potato prices in Poland in the first week of February 2020 made these supplies less attractive.
In general, in 2019, Russia exported a record volume of marketable potatoes in its history - 258 thousand tons! Ukraine turned out to be the main market for Russian potatoes, where more than half of all tubers were shipped. More than 76 thousand tons of Russian potatoes went to Azerbaijan, 15,7 thousand tons - to Moldova, 7,2 thousand tons to Serbia, 6,5 thousand tons to Kazakhstan, 4,5 thousand tons to Belarus. Significant batches of Russian-made potatoes were also delivered to Georgia, Iraq, Uzbekistan, Northern Macedonia, Mongolia, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Armenia.
