The meeting in the Government of the Russian Federation was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economic Development, as well as credit organizations, the press service of Victoria Abramchenko, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, reports.
As the meeting participants noted, the economic situation and the increase in the cost of refinancing this year may adversely affect the cost of loans that are subsidized by the Government in the framework of concessional and investment lending to agricultural producers. First of all, we are talking about the branches of crop production and animal husbandry.
Victoria Abramchenko during the meeting noted that one of the key tasks facing the industry is the full provision of necessary financial and other resources to farmers before field work.
“Despite the economic consequences of the pandemic, it is necessary to prevent jumps in the cost and decrease in the volume of concessional lending and completely close the needs of farmers for financing. These are support measures that allow you to effectively carry out sowing and harvesting campaigns and provide the country with food,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.
She instructed the Ministry of Finance, together with the Ministry of Agriculture, to work out the issues of allocating additional funding to ensure the already issued and new preferential short-term loans for the sowing campaign.
Additionally, the proposal of the Ministry of Finance, together with departments and credit organizations, to analyze and submit proposals for determining the maximum level of profitability of banks in the implementation of concessional lending to the agro-industrial complex was supported.
