The Rosselkhoznadzor informs about the recognition of potato production sites located in Germany as free from quarantine facilities included in the EAEU Unified List
The Rosselkhoznadzor informs that the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture of the Federal Republic of Germany provided information in accordance with the requirements of international standards for phytosanitary measures on the recognition of potato production zones in Germany free of organisms included in the Unified List of Quarantine Objects of the EAEU.
Analysis of the information provided by the National Organization for Quarantine and Plant Protection (NPPO) of Germany allows us to conclude that seed potatoes intended for import into the Russian Federation are produced in areas / production sites free from quarantine facilities for the EAEU located in the federal lands of Schleiswig- Holstein, Lower Saxony, Bavaria, Macklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia. This means that deliveries of seed potatoes from these administrative territories to Russia can be carried out without pre-shipment control from the Russian side.
It is worth noting that since 2013, the Rosselkhoznadzor has proposed to the European Commission and the national organizations for quarantine and plant protection of the seed potato exporting countries to take measures to recognize the zones, places and areas of its production free from organisms quarantine for Russia and the EAEU.
Unfortunately, earlier the Rosselkhoznadzor did not find support from NPPOs of European countries, and only in 2021 Finland, Scotland and then Germany carried out the procedure for recognizing "vacant places" in accordance with international standards for phytosanitary measures.
