An experiment to introduce unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) into agriculture is starting in 12 regions of Russia. Their list includes the Republic of Tatarstan, Altai Territory, Stavropol Territory and other regions significant for the industry.
The Russian government has prepared regulations containing new rules for the use of drones. In accordance with them, the flight altitude of a UAV should not exceed 15 meters from the ground, and the speed is limited to 16 meters per second.
The drone must be equipped with systems for avoiding collisions with obstacles, limiting the flight area, and emergency flight termination. On-board navigation lights, protected from fuel spills during an emergency landing, become mandatory for the device.
Aviation industry specialists with pilot certificates, including ultralight aircraft, will be able to fly drones. As well as persons over 18 years of age who have completed secondary education and have confirmed their skills in operating a UAV.
